John Kling
To John Kling, art tells a story. Unlike an author, an artist does not use words. The story is told instead with color, light/shade, line and shape. John uses watercolors and digital camera images to tell his stories. His images reflect formal composition, but color, reflection of light, and shape are primary to his expression. Subjects of John's artwork range from landscapes to intimate portraits of people and animals. At the University of Minnesota, John studied painting and photography and later earned a doctorate in psychology. His training in psychology allows him to understand the subject and infuse some of the subject's emotions into his artwork. John works from a home studio in Springdale, Arkansas.
