Lida Criner
(daughter of Paulline Beatrice Banes)
Lida Adkins Criner comes from a long line of artists but was
self-taught from girlhood. Lida lives in Limestone, Arkansas near the
Buffalo National Forest. She develops and teaches internet courses in
reading and writing and in the humanities for two universities. Painting
portraits and landscapes from old photographs of people and places
is a hobby that she shares with those who wish to renew the past,
when they commission her to paint their ancestors and old home
places.
"Beholding beauty with the eye of the mind he will be enabled to bring
forth not images of beauty, but realities because he has hold not of an
image but of a reality." (Plato). For more information on Lida's work or to
inquire about prints or commission work, e-mail: earl1844@gmail.com
