Amanda Singh
Amanda Singh, born in south Arkansas, now resides in Springdale Arkansas. Amanda earned a degree in art with a drawing and painting emphasis from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Many would consider her an abstract artist, however; in the words of Frieda Kahlo, "I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality."

Due to a condition called Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Amanda's vision fluctuates between blurry and manageable. She draws as she sees the world; distorting and blurring out part of her drawings.

When drawing, Amanda begins with a color field - it is somewhat like the Abstract Expressionists except with pastels. Space and actual texture is an important aspect of her drawings as well as her paintings. To see more of Amanda's work, visit: www.arkansasarts.org/programs/registry/ or e-mail her at: amanda.tyree@yahoo.com
