Louise Bremer
Sharing stories in paint, from fantasy to realism-with-a-twist, has always been Louise Bremer's passion. Louise expresses this passion by painting on panels and boxes crafted from antique barn wood. Her cousin and fellow artist, Carolyn Linton, constructs the wooden boxes first. Both Louise and Carolyn then write their stories inside the boxes. Carolyn attaches a pewter medallion to each box. The medallion shows that particular barn and its construction date. The old-fashioned milk paint Louise uses on each box is made from natural ingredients and is consistent with the wood's weathered appearance. Finally, the boxes receive a hand-rubbed natural wax finish, which preserves and enhances the wood and its special story.
