A lifelong Arkansas native and Conway resident since
1984, Mark Cothren became fascinated with
woodturning after seeing a friend create a bowl in 2005.
Since then, he has grown rapidly as a woodturning artist,
and has pieces on display in the Arkansas State Capitol
and at the Historic Arkansas Museum. His work is also in
many private collections around the country, including a
bowl purchased personally by woodworking legend Sam
Maloof. Despite his early success, Mark still considers
himself a student of the craft, and is continually trying to
learn and expand his range.
He is truly humbled by the unique beauty God creates in
each piece of wood, and is honored to be allowed to
reveal and share that beauty with others. For more
