Les Casteel is an Arkansas based woodworker, furniture
designer, writer, and instructor who specializes in designing
and building sculptured rocking chairs, as well as other
classic types of seating. Both the influence and association
with the legendary chair maker Sam Maloof, continues to
inspire Les to design and build complex sculptured pieces of
furniture from various types of fine wood.
Les is also an accomplished woodturner and is fond of
creating segmented objects of art from waste wood that is
destined for the land fill. Les is currently working on a series
of new woodturnings employing classical shapes and color
patterns which are often found in old pottery.
