As a teen my friends and I walked along the Arkansas River hunting sparkling crystals and wading in the shimmering waters. Allsopp Park Bird Sanctuary was my backyard, and I loved hearing the chirps of the birds as I hiked through the rustling leaves.

Painting some of the Arkansas Nature Conservancy lands became important to me as I began to hear of "extinction" of our wildlife creatures.

To my adventuring grandchildren, Del Ray, Gilly, Hollis, John, Josh, Aubrey, Susan, Blaise, Maggie, Marty, Kyle and Kaylee...LISTEN... GO EXPLORE and help preserve disappearing habitats...
